Cover 3 to Become the Latest Addition to Renovated Russell House

This summer brought change to Russell House as it saw a renovation that added a full service Chick-Fil-A and Panera Bread. Now, university officials say the newest vendor slated to make their debut in the sleek new student union will be a local favorite: Cover 3.

Lisa Brady, head of vendor relations for the university, told Third Spur that the decision was an easy one. “It was a no-brainer. Why have the students risk their safety to go to Five Points at night, when we can bring such an in-demand establishment to campus and allow them to enjoy it during the day?”

Word has begun to spread about the new arrival, and students across all years are ecstatic. Jane Sparks, a sophomore, says she is thrilled to be able to “pound Jagerbombs before [her] 9:40am.” David Sanders, a freshman, is looking forward to “shotgunning a Bud Light and getting a bread bowl all in one place.”

It is indeed the convenience that Brady says makes the idea a hit for the university, the students, and Cover 3. Reportedly, even the $2 Cover 3 shot will be available at the Russell House location to make it just as if not more appealing than its Harden Street headquarters. Russell House’s Cover 3 will be open later than the 2am limit for Five Points, with extended hours reaching until 5am. This, according to Brady, makes it so that students can remain on campus and stay safe.

The new addition will also take Carolina Cash and meal swipes. One swipe can get a student 4 shots or 2 beers. At press time, 21-swipe meal plan purchases were up 400%.
